When sitting down to decide different times to record our title sequence we first decided that as it was the Christmas holidays it might be particularly difficult to arrange times that we were all free, this meant that we had to talk for quite some time about the different possibilities. However this was not the only thing we needed to decide on, we felt that our shooting schedule needed to be focused around particular time and weather.
As we felt that we needed to create an eerie feeling to the title sequence we should record quite early in the morning or late at night, but due to the fact we were using a particularly young actress we decided that the timing needed to be appropriate for her. We also felt that the film needed realism and not many young children are allowed out late at night so we decided not to go ahead with that Idea.
We then went on to discuss the weather, as it was mid to late December we were lucky enough to not actually have to plan on a certain day for a type of weather. The cold, bleak and frosty weather was bound to be about for another month or so and this meant that we then just decided on the days.
Unlike many other groups who decided to spread the recording over a week or two period, we decided to record within just one day. Some may feel this is not a clever idea, when in fact it worked perfectly for us! We chose one day we were all free and recorded for many hours getting as much footage as we could and we ended up with some great results.
